Labor is the most glorious! Tianjin Haigang Steel Coil Co., Ltd. pays tribute to all workers.
On April 26, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, presided over a symposium in Hefei, Anhui Province, attended by representatives of intellectuals, model workers, and young people, and delivered an important speech.
Xi Jinping, on behalf of the Party Central Committee, extends greetings to intellectuals across the country. We extend our warmest greetings to the broad masses of working people and young people on the occasion of International Labor Day (May 1) and Youth Day (May 4).
Xi Jinping pointed out that a better life is created through labor. All workers, regardless of their profession, should be eager to learn, adept at putting what they’ve learned into practice, and committed to working diligently and assiduously. They should approach their work with dedication and strive for excellence, endeavoring to achieve extraordinary results even in ordinary positions. We must vigorously promote the spirit of labor throughout society, encouraging people to realize their life dreams and transform their destinies through honest labor, while firmly opposing any mindset that seeks easy gains without effort, relies on shortcuts and cunning, or indulges in pleasure-seeking and luxury.
Xi Jinping emphasized that model workers are outstanding representatives of the working masses and are the most admirable laborers. We must vigorously promote the exemplary deeds of model workers throughout society and provide comprehensive support to enable them to better showcase their talents and demonstrate their noble moral character. Party committees and governments at all levels should care for and cherish the broad working masses, earnestly implement the relevant policies and measures of the Party and the state, and support the broad working masses in actively seeking employment and boldly starting businesses. We must effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the broad working masses, help them resolve their difficulties and concerns, and proactively foster harmonious labor relations.
April 28, The 2022 celebration of the International Labor Day on May 1, along with the National May Day Labor Awards and National Model Worker Units Commendation Conference, was held via video and teleconference. Wang Dongming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wang Dongming extended festive greetings to the vast number of working people across the country, emphasizing that trade unions at all levels should take studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter to the First National Conference on Innovation and Exchange for Skilled Craftsmen as a powerful driving force. They should deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, firmly grasp the theme of the times in the workers’ movement, vigorously promote the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor, and the spirit of craftsmanship, widely, deeply, and continuously carry out competitions in labor and skills, and further advance the reform of building a contingent of industrial workers. Together, they should unite and mobilize hundreds of millions of workers to strive tirelessly for the realization of the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and greet the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Party with concrete actions.
Two hundred collectives and 966 individuals were awarded the National May Day Labor Awards—Certificates and Medals—while 956 collectives received the title of National Model Worker Units. Chen Gang, Secretary of the Party Group, Vice Chairman, and First Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, presided over the conference.
