Hegang Company Co-organizes the Japan-style Management Series Forum Focused on Practical Application.

On June 20, 2023, the "Practice-Oriented Series Forum—Japanese Management Style," hosted by the editorial team of Nankai Management Review and the School of Business at Nankai University, and co-organized by Tianjin Haigang Steel Coil Co., Ltd. and other institutions, was held in the lecture hall of the School of Business at Nankai University.

Yu Maosong, General Manager of Tianjin Haigang Steel Coil Co., Ltd., attached great importance to this meeting. Guided by the corporate culture of "Embracing All Rivers and Forging Steel Through Repeated Refining," General Manager Yu Maosong personally led several mid-level and higher-ranking management team members from Haigang Steel Coil to attend the meeting. Accompanying them were also over 50 entrepreneurs from organizations such as the Tianjin Metal Association’s “Young Managers’ Salon” and the Tianjin Enterprise Education Association.

This conference will feature keynote speeches on topics including “What is Japanese-style Management,” “New Japanese-style Management,” “The Dual Logic of Skilled Workers’ Participation in Technological Innovation,” and “The Dilemmas in the Internationalization of Japanese-style Management.” Following the keynote speeches, senior executives from Japanese companies will engage in a special dialogue on “Experiences in Japanese-Style Production Capacity and Quality Management—Taking Toyota as an Example,” while Japanese guests will participate in a roundtable discussion on “A Summary and Outlook on Japanese-style Management.”

The conference invited numerous distinguished guests, including Professor Wang Jingbin, Professor Zhang Yulai, Professor Wang Xing, Professor Yang Bin, and Professor Wang Kai. They provided participants with detailed and comprehensive insights into the integration of management theory and practice from multiple perspectives. The conference also highlighted how Japanese management strategies have remained resilient amid the turbulent global market conditions since the 1990s, offering a thorough analysis of Japanese business practices. The aim is to equip participants with practical approaches and strategies for integrating management theory and practice through the diverse perspectives offered by these esteemed professors.

At the conclusion of the conference, Professor Wang Yingjun, the chief editor of the “Nankai Management Review,” summarized the forum. Professor Wang emphasized that the current success of Japanese enterprises is the result of their continuous learning, constant innovation, and ongoing refinement of their corporate management models. “A stone from another hill can be used to polish jade,” Professor Wang said, encouraging entrepreneurs to focus on iterative knowledge updates within their organizations and to find development paths suited to their own businesses through practical learning and experience.

Yu Maosong, General Manager of Tianjin Haigang Steel Coil Co., Ltd., who also serves as the Executive President of the Tianjin Metal Association and the President of the Enterprise Education Association, has repeatedly emphasized in his daily work that entrepreneurs should learn more, observe more, ask more, listen more, and take more action when it comes to enterprise management. Under the guidance of the General Manager, Haigang Steel Coil has organized numerous large-scale forums such as the “Young Managers’ Salon,” inviting entrepreneurial talents from various fields to jointly discuss enterprise management strategies. Moreover, within the company itself, Haigang Steel Coil has frequently organized and led mid- and senior-level managers to participate in a variety of large and small forums that are beneficial to enterprise management, thereby contributing their efforts to the development of Haigang Steel Coil and private enterprises in Tianjin.
