What should I do if galvanized strip steel develops mold?

Galvanized strip steel is steel sheet coated with a layer of zinc. Among various galvanizing methods, hot-dip galvanizing offers a uniform coating, strong adhesion, and a long service life. During the hot-dip galvanizing process, the zinc reacts chemically and physically with the base metal, forming a tightly structured zinc-iron alloy layer that integrates seamlessly with the steel strip, thus providing exceptional corrosion resistance. However, hot-dip galvanized strip steel can sometimes develop mold. What causes this mold formation on hot-dip galvanized strip steel?
Hot-dip galvanized strip steel has a wide range of applications and is now extensively used for heating pipes, gas pipelines, and other similar purposes. However, we sometimes find that the galvanized strip steel develops mold during use. This occurs because water vapor tends to condense on the surface of hot-dip galvanized strip steel, and zinc readily oxidizes in the air, leading to the formation of rust on its surface.
When selecting hot-dip galvanized strip steel products, pay attention to the thickness of the coating and the smoothness of the surface. Also, make sure that there are no corrosive substances on the surface of the galvanized strip steel. Avoid placing galvanized strip steel products indoors if the indoor temperature is too high and they haven't fully dried yet.
